So after sending V-Moda an email and putting up the previous blog post I got the exact same pre-canned response to both. One was via comment to the last post and the other was via email. Both went as follows.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. If your headphones fall under our 1 Year V-MODA Premiere Warranty, we will be more than happy to send you a replacement.

Please file a warranty claim on our website at http://shop.v-moda.com/t-returns.aspx

There, you will find a link that says “warranty return” in blue. Click on that link and it should direct you to an online warranty form. Once you fill that out and submit it, you will receive an email from us with all the necessary information on returning your headphones for a replacement.

Thanks for being a part of V-MODA culture.

    Rock On,

Neither addressed the fact that I do not have a receipt as I clearly stated nor the much larger problem that they keep putting out defective products that break under regular usage within a really short time frame. The latter to me being the larger part of the problem.

Also, V-Moda, here is a tip, read the customer feedback next time. I mean really, if you’re going to to outreach to blogs or respond to customer emails at least have a human response that takes into consideration the problem instead of a script.

Thanks for actually READING this post.

    Rock On.

A letter I sent to V-Moda regarding some headphones I purchased from them. Loved the headphones but hated the fact that they seem to break within six months under regular usage.

Just writing in regards to your V-Moda Vibe Dual headphones. I have purchased 2 sets of these headphones and have been disappointed to have both of them have the audio stop working in one of the earpieces. The first set had the straight jack on them and it looks like the wire got worked back and forth enough that it must have broken off inside. Unfortunately I had lost the receipt so was told that you would not replace them (even though they are clearly V-moda headphones and that product line was less than a year old). I then went back to using my stock headphones until I couldnt stand them any longer. At that point I went back in the market for premium headphones and saw that you had tried to fix the design flaw of the first one by changing up the form factor at the top of the jack. Having had generally positive experiences with your product sound-wise and seeing as you were at the right price point I thought I would give it another try. Yet again though I have been disappointed by the headphones not being able to deal with regular day to day usage. Unfortunately for me I again am unable to find the receipt so I am now going to be spending another bunch of money to replace your defective product. Unfortunately for you all though I will not be buying v-moda products again and will be advising my friends to do the same.

    Just thought you should know.

Not expecting much but what the heck. It’s good to vent anyway.
What headphones would you buy for your iPhone if you had to get a new pair?

Have been learning to play the guitar recently thanks to the folks at NYC Guitar School. It has been a lot of fun and I have to say very meditative. After strumming away for the last several weeks on the Fender acoustic I picked up I made the leap and bought a Fender Strat (hecho en Mexico). The thing rocks! Even Lana, who has been taking lessons as well, is enjoying jamming out on it.

After about 2 months of pretty painful sounding practicing and even more painful finger tips I have to say it is actually starting to sound like music. I even have a few songs under my belt that I can somewhat keep time with. Last night even learned to play a 12 bar blues thanks to a tutorial on the Gibson site. Freaking cool :-)

Finally got off my butt and integrated my Flickr photos into the blog. You can browse them here. I even was motivated enough to organize them into sets. Crazy eh.

There is a vacant lot on our street which always has some sort of upcoming show or movie advertisement plastered to it. Yesterday I started to get people coming up to me in the office asking me if I had seen the poster of me down the street. I didnt think to much about it until Emerson sent me a photo of it he took on his phone. Holy crap! That was my exact response. Of course I had to go down and take a few snapshots myself.

About an hour later my partner Jason calls up and says “Hey do you know your famous?” Apparently this poster is all over town. Too funny!

I love gadgets! Phones, PDAs, MP3 Players, Cameras, Camcorders, PCs, Laptops and any combination of any of the previously mentioned items are my favorite.

I purchased the new phone recently and wound up digging out all my old phones from the last 5 years. Took a picture of them all lined up with my new camera phone.

I find it interesting that I started with a Motorola flip phone and have reverted to them for the last couple phones (I do still keep a XV6700 Pocket PC for mobile email and of course my built in mobile broadband for my laptop).

This was written by my wife Lana and posted on our family blog. I just had to cross post.

“Eva is at the great age when she mimics everything that we do, especially Emma. I call her my monkey and she even responds to that name. She thinks it’s pretty funny when I call her that. Emma is the center of Eva’s little world. She wants to be just like Emma. She wants to play with the same toy Emma is playing, eat the same things Emma is eating, get dressed when Emma gets dressed, etc. This morning was no different. Eva saw that Emma was putting on a t-shirt ‘all by herself’ and she wanted to do the same, so she grabbed the first thing that she saw (which was a pair of Emma’s underware) and started to pull them over her head. Jesse had to help her only a little bit. This is what she looked like at breakfast:”

Picked up a new camera phone yesterday. My biggest beef with all my phones to date is the crappy cameras included. The one on my pocket pc is probably the best but still not great. All my moblogging has been done with that to date. No more!

The new Razr has a 2.0 megapixel camera and a bunch of other nifty features. It is the closest thing I have ever seen to an actual camera in the phone (effects and even editing included). Check out my latest flickr shots to see how the photos look.
