I have the feeling it is going to be an awesome week.
On the family front the girls are feeling better which is a huge relief. Eva is still on her breathing meds but is breathing 100% normally now. Emma is of course, her energetic self.
Also work is buzzing with activity. In the last month I have had 4 or 5 key employees join the engineering team and it is starting to show. Between the new employees and the current ones we have a really kickass team. Combine that with the amazing stuff the product folks are churning out and I think Tremor should have a very interesting 2008 from a dev and product perspective.
Lastly, I am heading out to San Francisco for the NewTeeVee Conference. This should be an interesting event with a lot of Silicon Valley influence. I am interested to see how it contrasts to the Madison Avenue slanted conferences we get here in NY. Also interested to meetup with some of the speakers and attendees. If you are going let me know and we can hook up.
We are taking the girls shopping today for some Halloween costumes. When I told Emma we were taking her shopping today she got very excited. She then proceeded to ask Lana if we had signed her up for shopping
For some reason I dont think she will need to be signed up for any sort of shopping. The instinct seems to come naturally to this one.

Well we made it back from the vacation safe and sound. It was nice to take the time away and just hang with the family but it is nice to be back as well. So many things going on at work, the girls have a whole new set of classes and the city itself is buzzing. It doesnt hurt that the weather has been positively Summer like as well.
All in all its been an excellent start to Autumn. I hope everyone else is doing well and thanks again to everybody who hosted us on our trip. It was truly a pleasure to see you all and we look forward to doing it again soon eh!
We did it. We finally booked our trip up to Canada. The last time we went there on vacation was when Emma was about 3 months old (about 3 years ago actually). That trip saw about a dozen or more people migrate up to Edmonton to see us (or more realistically Emma).
This time we are heading to the coast of BC to see everyone. It should be pretty neat. Flying into Seattle then taking the Coho from Port Angeles to the town I grew up in, Victoria. Should be a whirlwind of good times and good people kicking off with Lana’s bday on the 12th.
We cannot wait to get up there and see everyone. The last time I visited Victoria was for a funeral and the time before that for a wedding. Both times were very rushed and didnt provide much time to visit. Looking forward to getting a chance to really catch up with everyone!
A million balls in the air right now it seems (mostly work). And the beauty of it is that it all seems somewhat manageable. I think since moving into the city I have just that much more time on my hands to get done what needs to get done. To top it all of it is my birthday on Thursday!
Right now I dont think I could imagine a much nicer summer. Enjoying my girls, the city and the life.

Like billions of other men out there I can include myself in the father category. I have the luck to have two wonderful little girls. One is one and the other is three. They are my world and every day I get to spend with them is the best ever.
I am also lucky enough to have my father still around. He is not actually physically very close but even if we dont talk for a month or more we still are as close as any father and son out there. I love him and every time we get together we have a blast. I hope to see him soon.
The other father in my life is my granddad Arthur Rowe. He gave us all a bit of a scare last year. Right after my great grandmother passed away last autumn my granddad fell while shoveling snow and broke his hip. Talk about bad luck! Luckily he has recovered nicely and is back to his old tricks. They are moving to Victoria this summer so when I go up there with the family we should get to see him. Again, I cannot wait.
My great grandma used to say ‘The harder I work the luckier I get’. I didnt think that really applied here but the more I think about it the more I realize it does. It takes a lot of work to make a relationship so special. I certainly realize now how much work goes into being a father. The more time I spend at it the better I think it is for my girls. I hope they feel lucky to have me as a dad.
Happy fathers day everyone!
This was written by my wife Lana and posted on our family blog. I just had to cross post.
“Eva is at the great age when she mimics everything that we do, especially Emma. I call her my monkey and she even responds to that name. She thinks it’s pretty funny when I call her that. Emma is the center of Eva’s little world. She wants to be just like Emma. She wants to play with the same toy Emma is playing, eat the same things Emma is eating, get dressed when Emma gets dressed, etc. This morning was no different. Eva saw that Emma was putting on a t-shirt ‘all by herself’ and she wanted to do the same, so she grabbed the first thing that she saw (which was a pair of Emma’s underware) and started to pull them over her head. Jesse had to help her only a little bit. This is what she looked like at breakfast:”
